A customer came to us with a product in mind. They brought a similar design that they wanted to mimic. However the kit that they originally had in mind was over their set budget.
Mears redesigned the kit to fit both the price point and the customer's vision, all within the desired lead time. Mears produced, assembled, and packed the components, as well as handling distribution.

Babies R Us had a 'Babies First' seasonal promotion. The display was a small backdrop where parents could take pictures of their babies in front of a seasonal background that varied throughout the year according to the nearest holidays.
Babies R Us would originally make repeat orders of the same disposable standees that they would throw away at the end of every season. Mears offered a solution. We designed a reusable, durable easel that allowed the customer to simply switch out posters that clipped to the easel. This saved the customer money and allowed them to only order posters from each season. This design also allowed them to easily order posters printed front and back that store employees could flip for the appropriate holiday. Each easel lasted the customer 2 years before replacement easels had to be made.

One customer of ours came to us needing help on a display. He was given the task to make a treated lumber display that would appear in 1400 Lowe's stores throughout the country. We started by studying a concept our customer designed. He originally had someone else build his design, but they didn't follow the customer's instructions. This ended up making it extremely heavy, expensive, and prone to damage in shipping and on the sales floor.
Mears value engineered the display to make it better in every way. By substituting metal pieces for other materials, we were able to save weight and money while making it more durable at the same time. We designed the kit to be modular and fit the multiple bay sizes in each Lowe's store. We also designed the display with assembly in mind. Improving on the old design as well as pre-assembling as much of the kit as possible to make installation much more simple. After packing over 1 million total components and distributing each kit to the correct store the customer told us the excellent news that there had been Zero damage to any of the kits in shipping. |
